If you’re looking for a quiet, whimsical weekend away, look no further than the Book Nook. It’s like stepping into another world, surrounded by books, nature and bird song. The cabin is SO thoughtfully done. It’s a gorgeous, cosy space equipped with everything you could need for a couple of nights away. Communication from Sarah and Nick was excellent, the cabin was easy to find, and we really appreciated all the extra touches. A 10/10 magical stay – we’ll be recommending it to everyone ❤️

Sarah and Nick are the best hosts and will go out of their way to make your stay special.
The accommodation is brilliantly done and has had so much effort and love put into it.
This is not just a place to stay it’s somewhere where you will make memories to last a lifetime.

My wife and I absolutely loved our short stay in the Book Nook. The attention to detail and quirky book themed decor makes for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Cosy stove and a ladder to the mezzanine bed add to the fun. Extremely quiet apart from the welcome sounds of nature and lots to see around the area – Dartmoor and nearby coastline. Lovely hosts. Whilst staying at the Book Nook, I texted a friend some photos. She wrote back: “The interior looks like what I’d imagine a small mouse’s house would look like in a fairytale.”

“Fairytale,” is the perfect word to describe this place, so I had to borrow her words. It’s whimsical, unique, and just absolutely gorgeously put together- so much love has clearly been poured into every millimetre and it was a wonderful space to inhabit; restorative and inspiring, the perfect escape- just like retreating to the pages of a well-loved novel, only better. Sometimes these places can be style over substance, but not so with the Book Nook. It’s a fantastically practical space, with so many thoughtful details to make it a more comfortable stay- from the fantastically outfitted and efficient kitchenette- with not just coffee provided, but *good* coffee- to the spare blankets under the armchairs, to the plentiful well-placed outlets and clever foldable furniture- this is a space that is truly as restful to inhabit as it looks.Sarah and Nick were incredible hosts, super welcoming and responsive, helping us with our confusion over the electric shower (very much our own fault!) and even going above and beyond and kindly giving us a lift to the station on our final day when we realised Sunday buses wouldn’t start on time to get us home.

The location, of course, is also beautiful, and we very much enjoyed longer ramblings and shorter walks alike. Sarah & Nick again provided some great recommendations nearby, and we had a delicious meal and some lovely hikes thanks to their local expertise.

We are already scheming a repeat visit- if you have the chance to book the Book Nook (no pun intended!) take it. Thank you so much again to Sarah & Nick!

Spent 3 nights in this incredible cabin with my wife. The quirky decor and attention to detail was second to none! Cannot recommend highly enough.

“We loved our stay at the Book Nook. At night we heard an owl and the sky was so clear we saw a shooting star! The cabin is so thoughtfully decorated and Sarah lit the log burner for us on arrival, and also left some eggs. The Book Nook is very cosy, peaceful and full of nostalgia from some of my favourite childhood books. We were able to visit Ashburton, Totnes and go for a walk on Dartmoor. Highly recommended!”

The best staycation I’ve ever had! I can’t tell you how much I needed this break and as a solo traveller, I often feel a little overlooked. Even the way you made adjustments to make the cabin feel like it was mine made me feel so looked after. So thank you, I will be back.
